Bring bold color, movement, and texture to your quilting and embroidery projects with Variations—our high-sheen, high-strength 40 wt. variegated polyester thread. Designed for visible quilting, embroidery, and decorative stitching, Variations features a 2-3" color change transition that creates natural shading, flow, and eye-catching dimension in every design.
Whether quilting feathers on your longarm, adding satin stitches or raw-edge appliqué on your home sewing machine, or stitching a machine embroidery design, Variations help your creativity pop and stand out. Quilters and embroiderers love these color combinations because they allow for the freedom of adding depth and personality without having to change threads midway through a project.
Choose from 23 gorgeous color combinations, including soft neutrals, bright primaries, and deep jewel tones. Each 2,188-yard cone is wound with extra-strong trilobal polyester thread, which has a smooth finish and a brilliant sheen. The trilobal filaments reflect light beautifully, making them ideal for stitches you want to see.
For smooth, balanced stitching, pair Variations with Perfection, Precision, or Precision prewound bobbins in the bobbin. We recommend a #90/14 topstitch needle for home machines or a #18 (4.0) for longarm machines.
If you love threads that add presence, polish, and creative flair, Variations is the perfect choice. Let your stitches shine.

Don't Forget Your Needles
If you are going to stitch Variations on your home sewing machine, don't forget to add a pack of our titanium-coated Topstitch Needles to your order. Our needles last up to five times longer than standard sewing machine needles.
Topstitch needles also have a large eye, deep groove, and rounded sharp point-- say goodbye to interruptions caused by thread breakage! (Think of all the time you will save by not having to rethread your machine. 😁)
