VariQuilt

A poly-wrapped poly core thread combines two forms of polyester in one construction. VariQuilt has a strong multifilament polyester core that provides durability and helps reduce thread breaks. That core is wrapped with fine spun polyester, which gives the thread a softer, cotton-like feel and matte appearance. With VariQuilt, 70% of the thread content is a multifilament core and 30% is a spun polyester wrap, giving quilters strength, smooth stitching, and low-lint performance in a single thread.

A matte-finish thread has a soft, understated appearance that tends to blend naturally with quilting fabrics, allowing the texture and colors to be part of the quilt's story. A high-sheen thread reflects more light, so the quilting appears brighter and more prominent on the surface, usually commanding attention away from the fabrics and onto the thread. VariQuilt has a matte finish, making its variegated color changes feel rich and dimensional without looking shiny. It is a great choice when you want visible quilting with a softer, cotton-like appearance.

Yes. VariQuilt is designed for both home machines and longarm machines. It's a strong thread, thanks to its multifilament core, and can handle high-speed, high-tension stitching. For home machines, we recommend a #90/14 topstitch needle, which provides enough room for the thread to pass smoothly through the needle eye. Pair it with a finer bobbin thread such as Precision 60 wt. or Perfection 50 wt. for balanced, reliable stitches.
