Perfection

The main difference is fiber type. Perfection is a 50 wt. lint-free polyester thread made from continuous filament fibers, which means it's a smooth thread with no lint. Dream Seam is a 50 wt. cotton thread made from Giza-class Egyptian-grown extra-long staple cotton, which has a soft, natural matte finish and minimal lint (thanks to mercerizing and gassing). Both are excellent all-purpose threads for piecing and quilting. Some quilters prefer cotton over polyester, while others prefer polyester over cotton. It comes down to personal preference as both threads are premium-quality and make excellent sewing, piecing, and quilting threads.

Perfection works beautifully on both home machines and longarm machines. As a lint-free, 50 wt polyester thread, it’s versatile for piecing, quilting, and general sewing on any machine. Lint-free means the thread produces no lint. Lint-free threads are often made from continuous filament fibers with no loose ends that cause fuzz or lint to shed. Threads made from staples, such as cotton or spun polyester, will have lint due to their construction. Perfection is a true lint-free thread.

Use a Topstitch #80/12 needle with Perfection 50 wt. thread. The Topstitch needle's large eye and deep groove protect the multifilament polyester as it passes through your machine, preventing breakage and skipped stitches.
