There is no rule stating you must use cotton thread. However, many hand quilters prefer cotton thread, partly because of its heritage and natural matte finish, which adds a subtle texture to your quilt without a distracting sheen or reflection when stitched.
As a bonus, the extra-long staple cotton fibers in our Hand Quilting Thread produce a smooth, strong thread, and the glazed coating further strengthens the thread and eliminates lint. The result is consistent tension and a quilt that feels as soft and comfortable as it looks.
